The connection between the hammer head and the handle must be firm. If the hammer head and hammer handle are loose, or the hammer handle has splits or cracks, it cannot be used. It is better to wedge the hammer head and hammer handle in the mounting hole with a metal wedge. The length of the wedge should not be greater than 2/3 of the depth of the mounting hole.
